Chris Brown No-show at 2009 BET Awards

Rumours of Chris Brown was shut out of BET's award like wildfire. The rumours taking a place due to of his recent legal wranglings - at the insistence of Rihanna's musical mentor Jay-Z.
A source tells Brown's absence came at the insistence of the Rev. Al Sharpton. "Al made such a fuss to the BET executives that they pulled Chris," says an insider, who adds that Jay-Z also had a hand in the decision. "Jay is a big name in the BET community, and he was very vocal about his displeasure with Chris attending the ceremony. He didn't want Chris anywhere near the awards so close to the court's ruling."
But a spokesman for Brown has denied he was ever booked to play at the glitzy show. The rep tells, "That's not true - he was never confirmed to perform."
